## SEC. 3 APPLICATION TO OTHER LAWS **[**[16 U.S.C. 973a](/us/usc/t16/s973a)**]** The seizure by a Pacific Island Party of a vessel of the United States shall not be determined to be a seizure described in section 205(a)(4)(C) of the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act (16 U.S.C. 1825(a)(4)(C))1 or section 2 of the Fishermen's Protective Act of 1967 (22 U.S.C. 1972) if the seizure is found by the Secretary of State to be in accordance with the provisions of the Treaty. 1So in law.
Section 211 of the Department of Commerce and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 1997 (as contained in section 101(a), title I of Division A of Public Law 104–208; 110 Stat. 3009–41) provides: Sec. 211.
(a)Effective 15 days after the enactment of the Sustainable Fisheries Act, section 1 of the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act (16 U.S.C. 1801) shall be amended to read as follows: “That this Act may be cited as the ‘Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act’.”
(b)Effective 15 days after the enactment of the Sustainable Fisheries Act, all references to the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act shall be redesignated as references to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. Since such section did not actually amend each occurrence of the short title in law, the former short title appears here.
