## SEC. 23005 COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT TRAINING AND SUPPORT Section 31102(l) of title 49, United States Code (as amended by section 23004), is amended— ####
(1)in paragraph (1), by striking “(2) and (3)” and inserting “(2) through (5)”; and ####
(2)by adding at the end the following: > > #### “(5) Commercial motor vehicle enforcement training and support grant program > > > ##### “(A) In general > > The Secretary shall administer a commercial motor vehicle enforcement training and support grant program funded under section 31104(a)(3), under which the Secretary shall make discretionary grants to eligible entities described in subparagraph
(C)for the purposes described in subparagraph (B). > > > ##### “(B) Purposes > > The purposes of the grant program under subparagraph
(A)are— > > > ###### “(i) > > to train non-Federal employees who conduct commercial motor vehicle enforcement activities; and > > > ###### “(ii) > > to develop related training materials. > > > ##### “(C) Eligible entities > > An entity eligible for a discretionary grant under the program described in subparagraph
(A)is a nonprofit organization that has— > > > ###### “(i) > > expertise in conducting a training program for non-Federal employees; and > > > ###### “(ii) > > the ability to reach and involve in a training program a target population of commercial motor vehicle safety enforcement employees.” > .
