## SEC. 593 POSTPONEMENT OF CONDITIONAL DESIGNATION OF EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL CORPS AS A BASIC BRANCH OF THE ARMY **[**[10 U.S.C. 7063 note](/us/usc/t10/s7063)**]** Section 582(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018 (Public Law 115-91; 10 U.S.C. 763 note) is amended— ####

(1)in paragraph (1), by striking “October 1, 2020” and inserting “October 1, 2025”; and ####

(2)in paragraph (2)— #####

(A)in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking “September 30, 2020” and inserting “September 30, 2025”; #####

(B)in subparagraph (B), by inserting “, the explosive ordnance disposal commandant (chief of explosive ordnance disposal),” before “qualified”; and #####

(C)by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: > > ##### “(G) > > The explosive ordnance disposal commandant (chief of explosive ordnance disposal) has determined whether explosive ordnance disposal soldiers have the appropriate skills necessary to support missions of special operations forces (as identified in section 167(j) of title 10, United States Code). Such skills may include airborne, air assault, combat diver, fast roping insertion and extraction, helocasting, military free-fall, and off-road driving.” > .
