## SEC. 6001 PURPOSE **[**[42 U.S.C. 17113 note](/us/usc/t42/s17113)**]** The purpose of this title and the amendments made by this title is to encourage the development and evaluation of innovative technologies aimed at increasing— ####
(1)the technological and economic competitiveness of industry and manufacturing in the United States; and ####
(2)the emissions reduction of nonpower industrial sectors.
