## SEC. 1678 REPORT ON OPERATION OF CONVENTIONAL FORCES OF CERTAIN COMBATANT COMMANDS UNDER EMPLOYMENT OR THREAT OF EMPLOYMENT OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS ###
(a)In General Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in coordination with the Commander of the United States European Command, the Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command, and the Commander of the United States Strategic Command, shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report detailing the views of the Chairman and each such Commander on the ability of conventional forces under the authority of that Commander to execute contingency plans under employment or threat of employment of nuclear weapons by the United States, an ally of the United States, or an adversary of the United States, including with respect to— ####
(1)measures taken to maximize the likelihood that such forces could continue to operate; ####
(2)risks or gaps in the capabilities of such forces that would result from the employment or threat of employment of nuclear weapons; and ####
(3)how the capabilities and limitations of such forces would impact decisions to continue or terminate operations. ###
(b)Form of Report The report required by subsection
(a)shall be submitted in classified form but shall be accompanied by an unclassified summary appropriate for release to the public.
