## SEC. 3542 AUTHORITY TO EXEMPT VESSELS ###
(a)In General Section 2113 of title 46, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)by adding “and” after the semicolon at the end of paragraph (3); and ####
(2)by striking paragraphs
(4)and
(5)and inserting the following: > > #### “(4) > > maintain different structural fire protection, manning, operating, and equipment requirements for vessels that satisfied requirements set forth in the Passenger Vessel Safety Act of 1993 (Public Law 103-206) before June 21, 1994.” > . ###
(b)Conforming Amendments Section 3306(i) of title 46, United States Code, is amended by striking “section 2113(5)” and inserting “section 2113(4)”.
