## SEC. 701 EXPANSION OF REGIONAL INFORMATION SHARING SYSTEM TO FACILITATE FEDERAL-STATE-LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE RELATED TO TERRORIST ATTACKS Section 1301 of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 3796h) is amended— ####
(1)in subsection (a), by inserting “and terrorist conspiracies and activities” after “activities”; ####
(2)in subsection (b)— #####
(A)in paragraph (3), by striking “and” after the semicolon; #####
(B)by redesignating paragraph
(4)as paragraph (5); and #####
(C)by inserting after paragraph
(3)the following: > > #### “(4) > > establishing and operating secure information sharing systems to enhance the investigation and prosecution abilities of participating enforcement agencies in addressing multi-jurisdictional terrorist conspiracies and activities; and (5)” > ; and ####
(3)by inserting at the end the following: > > ### “(d) Authorization of Appropriation to the Bureau of Justice Assistance > > There are authorized to be appropriated to the Bureau of Justice Assistance to carry out this section $50,000,000 for fiscal year 2002 and $100,000,000 for fiscal year 2003.” > . # TITLE VIII STRENGTHENING THE CRIMINAL LAWS AGAINST TERRORISM
