## SEC. 897 RAPID PROTOTYPING FUNDS FOR THE MILITARY DEPARTMENTS Section 804(d) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114-92; 10 U.S.C. 2302 note), as amended by section 864 of this Act, is further amended— ####
(1)in the subsection heading, by striking “Fund” and inserting “Funds”; ####
(2)in paragraph (1), by striking “ In general.—The Secretary ” and inserting the following: > “Department of defense rapid prototyping fund.— > > > ##### “(A) In general > > The Secretary” > ; ####
(3)by redesignating paragraphs
(2)and
(3)as subparagraphs
(B)and (C), respectively, and moving such subparagraphs, as so redesignated, two ems to the right; ####
(4)in subparagraph (B), as redesignated by paragraph (3), by striking “this subsection” and inserting “this paragraph”; and ####
(5)by inserting after paragraph
(1)the following new paragraph: > > #### “(2) Rapid prototyping funds for the military departments > > The Secretary of each military department may establish a military department-specific fund (and, in the case of the Secretary of the Navy, including the Marine Corps) to provide funds, in addition to other funds that may be available to the military department concerned, for acquisition programs under the rapid fielding and prototyping pathways established pursuant to this section. Each military department-specific fund shall consist of amounts appropriated or credited to the fund.” > .
