## SEC. 731 ESTABLISHMENT OF ADVISORY COMMITTEES FOR MILITARY TREATMENT FACILITIES **[**[10 U.S.C. 1071 note](/us/usc/t10/s1071)**]** ###
(a)In General The Secretary of Defense shall establish, under such regulations as the Secretary may prescribe, an advisory committee for each military treatment facility. ###
(b)Status of Certain Members of Advisory Committees A member of an advisory committee established under subsection
(a)who is not a member of the Armed Forces on active duty or an employee of the Federal Government shall, with the approval of the commanding officer or director of the military treatment facility concerned, be treated as a volunteer under section 1588 of title 10, United States Code, in carrying out the duties of the member under this section. ###
(c)Duties Each advisory committee established under subsection
(a)for a military treatment facility shall provide to the commanding officer or director of such facility advice on the administration and activities of such facility as it relates to the experience of care for beneficiaries at such facility. ## Subtitle D Reports and Other Matters
