## SEC. 353 EVALUATION OF MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY TECHNOLOGY ###
(a)In General The Secretary of Defense shall evaluate the need for proven safety technology in vehicles transporting shipments under the Transportation Protective Services program of the United States Transportation Command, including— ####
(1)electronic logging devices; ####
(2)roll stability control; ####
(3)forward collision avoidance systems; ####
(4)lane departure warning systems; and ####
(5)speed limiters. ###
(b)Considerations In carrying out subsection (a), the Secretary shall— ####
(1)consider the need to avoid catastrophic accidents and exposure of security-sensitive materials; and ####
(2)take into the account the findings of the Government Accountability Office report numbered GAO-16-82 and titled “Defense Transportation; DoD Needs to Improve the Evaluation of Safety and Performance Information for Carriers Transporting Security-Sensitive Materials”. # TITLE IV MILITARY PERSONNEL AUTHORIZATIONS ## Subtitle A Active Forces
