## SEC. 1125 TEMPORARY DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY FOR DOMESTIC DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE FACILITIES, THE MAJOR RANGE AND TEST FACILITIES BASE, AND THE OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONAL TEST AND EVALUATION **[**[10 U.S.C. note](/us/usc/t10) prec. 1580**]** ###
(a)Defense Industrial Base Facility and MRTFB During each of fiscal years 2017 through 2030, the Secretary of Defense may appoint, without regard to the provisions of subchapter I of chapter 33 of title 5, United States Code, other than sections 3303 and 3328 of such title, qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service at any defense industrial base facility or the Major Range and Test Facilities Base, including to Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair positions. ###
(b)Office of the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation During fiscal years 2017 through 2021, the Secretary of Defense may, acting through the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation, appoint qualified candidates possessing an advanced degree to scientific and engineering positions within the Office of the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation without regard to the provisions of subchapter I of chapter 33 of title 5, United States Code, other than sections 3303 and 3328 of such title. ###
(c)Definition of Defense Industrial Base Facility In this section, the term “defense industrial base facility” means any Department of Defense depot, arsenal, or shipyard located within the United States and includes supporting units of a facility at an installation or base. ## Subtitle C Governmentwide Matters
