## SEC. 221 REDUCTION IN FREQUENCY OF REPORTING BY DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR SYSTEMS ENGINEERING ###
(a)In General **[**[10 U.S.C. 139b](/us/usc/t10/s139b)**]** Section 139b(d) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)by redesignating paragraphs
(1)and
(2)as paragraphs
(3)and (4), respectively; ####
(2)in paragraph (3), as so redesignated, by striking “In General.—” and all that follows through “Each report” and inserting “Contents.— Each report submitted under paragraph
(1)or (2)”; ####
(3)by inserting before paragraph (3), as so redesignated, the following new paragraphs
(1)and (2): > > #### “(1) Annual report by deputy assistant secretary of defense for developmental test and evaluation > > Not later than March 31 of each year, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Developmental Test and Evaluation shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the activities undertaken pursuant to subsection
(a)during the preceding year. > > > #### “(2) Biennial report by deputy assistant secretary of defense for systems engineering > > Not later than March 31 of every other year, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Engineering shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the activities undertaken pursuant to subsection
(b)during the preceding two-year period.” > ; and ####
(4)in the subsection heading, by striking “Annual Report” and inserting “Annual and Biennial Reports”. ###
(b)Effective Date **[**[10 U.S.C. 139b note](/us/usc/t10/s139b)**]** The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and the first report submitted under paragraph
(2)of section 139b(d) of such title, as added by subsection (a)(3), shall be submitted not later than March 31, 2015.
