## SEC. 1271 TWO-YEAR EXTENSION AND MODIFICATION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR NON-CONVENTIONAL ASSISTED RECOVERY CAPABILITIES ###

(a)Extension Subsection

(h)of section 943 of the Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009 (Public Law 110-417; 122 Stat. 4579), as most recently amended by section 1261(a) of the Carl Levin and Howard P. “Buck”McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 (Public Law 113-291), is further amended by striking “2016” and inserting “2018”. ###

(b)Revision to Annual Limitation on Funds Subsection

(a)of such section 943 is amended— ####

(1)by striking “ Upon ” and inserting the following: > > #### “(1) In general > > Upon” > ; ####

(2)by striking “an amount” and all that follows through “may be” and inserting “amounts appropriated or otherwise made available for the Department of Defense for operation and maintenance may be”; and ####

(3)by adding at the end the following new paragraph: > > #### “(2) Annual limit > > The total amount made available for support of non-conventional assisted recovery activities under this subsection in any fiscal year may not exceed $25,000,000.” > . ###

(c)Oversight Subsection

(b)of such section 943 is amended— ####

(1)by striking “

(b)Procedures.—The Secretary ” and inserting the following: > > ### “(b) Procedures and Oversight > > > #### “(1) Procedures > > The Secretary” > ; and ####

(2)by adding at the end the following new paragraph: > > #### “(2) Programmatic and policy oversight > > The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict shall have primary programmatic and policy oversight of non-conventional assisted recovery activities authorized by this section.” > .
