## SEC. 1261 STRATEGY TO PROMOTE UNITED STATES INTERESTS IN THE INDO-ASIA-PACIFIC REGION ###
(a)Strategy Not later than March 1, 2018, the President shall develop an overall strategy to promote United States interests in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Such strategy shall be informed by, but not limited to, the following: ####
(1)The national security strategy of the United States for 2015 set forth in the national security strategy report required under section 108(a)(3) of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 5043(a)(3)), as such strategy relates to United States interests in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. ####
(2)The 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review, as it relates to United States interests in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. ####
(3)The 2015 Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review, as it relates to United States interests in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. ####
(4)The strategy to prioritize United States defense interests in the Asia-Pacific region as contained in the report required by section 1251(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 (Public Law 113-291). ####
(5)The integrated, multi-year planning and budget strategy for a rebalancing of United States policy in Asia submitted to Congress pursuant to section 7043(a) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2014 (division K of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014 (Public Law 113-76)). ###
(b)Presidential Policy Directive The President shall issue a Presidential Policy Directive to appropriate departments and agencies of the United States Government that contains the strategy developed under subsection
(a)and includes implementing guidance to such departments and agencies. ###
(c)Relation to Agency Priority Goals and Annual Budget ####
(1)Agency priority goals In identifying agency priority goals under section 1120(b) of title 31, United States Code, for each appropriate department and agency of the United States Government, the head of such department or agency, or as otherwise determined by the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, shall take into consideration the strategy developed under subsection
(a)and the Presidential Policy Directive issued under subsection (b). ####
(2)Annual budget The President, acting through the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, shall ensure that the annual budget submitted to Congress under section 1105 of title 31, United States Code, includes a separate section that clearly highlights programs and projects that are being funded in the annual budget that relate to the strategy developed under subsection
(a)and the Presidential Policy Directive issued under subsection (b).
