## SEC. 1042 PERMANENT AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE REWARDS THROUGH GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL OF ALLIED FORCES AND CERTAIN OTHER MODIFICATIONS TO DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE PROGRAM TO PROVIDE REWARDS ###
(a)In general Subsection (c)(3) of section 127b of title 10, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)in subparagraph (A), by striking “subparagraphs
(B)and (C)” and inserting “subparagraph (B)”; and ####
(2)by striking subparagraphs
(C)and (D). ###
(b)Modification of Reporting Requirements Subsection (f)(2) of such section is amended— ####
(1)by striking subparagraph (D); ####
(2)by redesignating subparagraphs (E), (F), and (G), as subparagraphs (D), (E), and (F), respectively; and ####
(3)in subparagraph (D), as redesignated by paragraph (2), by inserting before the period at the end the following: “, including in which countries the program is being operated”. ###
(c)Report on Designation of Countries for Which Rewards May Be Paid Such section is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: > > ### “(h) Report on Designation of Countries for Which Rewards May Be Paid > > Not later than 15 days after the date on which the Secretary designates a country as a country in which an operation or activity of the armed forces is occurring in connection with which rewards may be paid under this section, the Secretary shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report on the designation. Each report shall include the following: > > > #### “(1) > > The country so designated. > > > #### “(2) > > The reason for the designation of the country. > > > #### “(3) > > A justification for the designation of the country for purposes of this section.” > . ###
(d)Clerical Amendments ####
(1)Section heading The heading of such section is amended to read as follows: > > ## “SEC. 127b Department of Defense rewards program” > . ####
(2)Table of sections **[**[10 U.S.C. 121](/us/usc/t10/s121)**]** The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 3 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 127b and inserting the following new item:" “127b. Department of Defense rewards program.” ".
