## SEC. 228 IMPROVED SAFETY INFORMATION FOR VESSELS **[**[14 U.S.C. 81](/us/usc/t14/s81)**]** Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the department in which the Coast Guard is operating shall establish a process that allows an operator of a marine exchange or other non-Federal vessel traffic information service to use the automatic identification system to transmit weather, ice, and other important navigation safety information to vessels. **[**Section 229 was repealed by section 610(a)(3)(A) of Public Law 114–120.**]**
