## SEC. 212 FLAG OFFICERS ###
(a)In General Title 14, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 295 the following: > > ## “SEC. 296 Flag officers > > **[**[14 U.S.C. 296](/us/usc/t14/s296)**]** > > “During any period in which the Coast Guard is not operating as a service in the Navy, section 1216(d) of title 10 does not apply with respect to flag officers of the Coast Guard.” > . ###
(b)Clerical Amendment The analysis for chapter 11 of title 14, United States Code, is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 295 the following:“296. Flag officers.”.
