## Sec. 2 statement of purpose **[**[22 U.S.C. 3601](/us/usc/t22/s3601)**]** It is the purpose of this Act to provide legislation necessary or desirable for the implementation of the Panama Canal Treaty of 1977 between the United States of America and the Republic of Panama and of the related agreements accompanying that Treaty.
