## SEC. 236 TECHNICAL AMENDMENTS The Geothermal Steam Act of 1970 (30 U.S.C. 1001 et seq.) is further amended as follows: ####

(1)By striking “geothermal steam and associated geothermal resources” each place it appears and inserting “geothermal resources”. ####

(2)Section 2 (30 U.S.C. 1001) is amended by adding at the end the following: > > ### “(g) > > ‘**direct use**’ means utilization of geothermal resources for commercial, residential, agricultural, public facilities, or other energy needs other than the commercial production of electricity; and” > . ####

(3)Section 21 (30 U.S.C. 1020) is amended by striking “(a) Within one hundred” and all that follows through “(b) Geothermal” and inserting “Geothermal”. ####
