## SEC. 40610 REPORT TO CONGRESS **[**[34 U.S.C. 12409](/us/usc/t34/s12409)**]** Each even-numbered fiscal year, the Attorney General shall submit to the Congress a biennial report that provides17 information concerning the incidence of stalking and domestic violence, and evaluates the effectiveness of State antistalking efforts and legislation. 17Paragraph
(1)of section 3(b) of Public Law 109–162 provides as follows:
(1)Stalking and domestic violence.—Section 40610 of the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (42 U.S.C. 14039) is amended by striking “The Attorney General shall submit to the Congress an annual report, beginning 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, that provides” and inserting “Each even-numbered fiscal year, the Attorney General shall submit to the Congress a biennial report that provides”. The amendment instructions probably should have been to strike “The Attorney General shall submit to the Congress an annual report, beginning **[**one**]** year after the date of the enactment of this Act, that provides”, but was executed to reflect the probable intent of Congress. Also, section 1135(a) of such public law provides for a similar amendment, which does execute properly.
