## SEC. 40001 SHORT TITLE.6 **[**[34 U.S.C. 10101 note](/us/usc/t34/s10101)**]** This title may be cited as the “Violence Against Women Act of 1994”. 6Division W of Public Law 117–103 provides for amendments made to this Act. Section 4(a) of such Public Law provides that “[e]xcept as provided in subsection (b), this Act and the amendments made by this Act shall not take effect until October 1 of the first fiscal year beginning after the date of enactment of this Act **[**effective October 1, 2022**]**”.
The amendments have been carried out in this version. This Act was enacted as title IV of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 (P.L. 103–322). See appendix to this Act for the provisions of Acts amended by this title.
