## Sec. 204 Consolidated and Uniform Administration of the Service **[**[22 U.S.C. 3924](/us/usc/t22/s3924)**]** The Secretary shall on a continuing basis consider the need for uniformity of personnel policies and procedures and for consolidation (in accordance with section 23 of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 (22 U.S.C. 2695)) of personnel functions among agencies utilizing the Foreign Service personnel system. Where feasible, the Secretary of State shall encourage (in consultation with the other heads of such agencies) the development of uniform policies and procedures and consolidated personnel functions.
