## SEC. 208 FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY ###
(a)Report on Language Proficiency Section 702 of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 (22 U.S.C. 4022) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: > > ### “(c) > > Not later than March 31 of each year, the Director General of the Foreign Service shall submit a report to the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate and the Committee on International Relations of the House of Representatives summarizing the number of positions in each overseas mission requiring foreign language competence that— > > > #### “(1) > > became vacant during the previous calendar year; and > > > #### “(2) > > were filled by individuals having the required foreign language competence.” > . ###
(b)Repeal Section 304(c) of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 (22 U.S.C. 3944(c)) is repealed.
