## SEC. 849 OVERSIGHT OF CONTRACTS AND CONTRACTING ACTIVITIES FOR OVERSEAS CONTINGENCY OPERATIONS IN RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHIEF ACQUISITION OFFICERS OF FEDERAL AGENCIES ###
(a)In General Subsection (b)(3) of section 1702 of title 41, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)by redesignating subparagraphs
(F)and
(G)as subparagraphs
(G)and (H), respectively; and ####
(2)by inserting after subparagraph
(E)the following new subparagraph (F): > > ##### “(F) > > advising the executive agency on the applicability of relevant policy on the contracts of the agency for overseas contingency operations and ensuring the compliance of the contracts and contracting activities of the agency with such policy;” > . ###
(b)Definition Such section is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: > > ### “(d) Overseas Contingency Operations Defined > > In this section, the term ‘overseas contingency operations’ means military operations outside the United States and its territories and possessions that are a contingency operation (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(13) of title 10).” > .
