## SEC. 553 MODIFICATION OF REQUIREMENTS ON PLAN TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF UNITS OF THE JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS’ TRAINING CORPS ###

(a)Number of Units Covered by Plan **[**[10 U.S.C. 2031 note](/us/usc/t10/s2031)**]** Subsection

(a)of section 548 of the Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009 (Public Law 110-417; 122 Stat. 4466) is amended by striking “not less than 3,700 units” and inserting “not less than 3,000, and not more than 3,700, units”. ###

(b)Additional Exception Subsection

(b)of such section is amended— ####

(1)in paragraph (1), by striking “or” at the end; ####

(2)in paragraph (2), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; or”; and ####

(3)by adding at the end the following new paragraph: > > #### “(3) > > if the Secretaries of the military departments determine that the level of support of all kinds (including appropriated funds) provided to youth development programs within the Armed Forces is consistent with funding limitations and the achievement of the objectives of such programs.” > . ###

(c)Submittal of Revised Plan and Implementation Reports Subsection

(e)of such section is amended to read as follows: > > ### “(e) Time for Submission > > Not later than March 31, 2013, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a revised plan under subsection

(a)to reflect amendments made to subsections

(a)and

(b)during fiscal year 2013 and a new report under subsection

(d)to address the revised plan. The Secretary shall submit an updated report not later than March 31 of each of 2015, 2018, and 2020.” > .
