## SEC. 501 LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF NAVY FLAG OFFICERS ON ACTIVE DUTY ###
(a)Additional Flag Officer Authorized Section 526(a)(2) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking “160” and inserting “162”. ###
(b)Corresponding Change in Computing Number of Flag Officers in Staff Corps of the Navy Section 5150(c) of such title is amended by striking the last sentence. ###
(c)Modification of Effective Date of Certain Reforms of the Strength and Distribution Limitations Applicable to Marine Corps General Officers Paragraph
(3)of section 502(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (Public Law 112-81; 125 Stat. 1387; 10 U.S.C. 525 note) is amended to read as follows: > > #### “(3) Effective dates > > > ##### “(A) In general > > Except as provided in subparagraph (B), the amendments made by this subsection shall take effect on October 1, 2013. > > > ##### “(B) Marine corps officers > > The amendments made by paragraphs (1)(A)(iv) and (2)(D) shall take effect on October 1, 2012.” > .
