## SEC. 542 AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS FOR GENERAL AND SPECIAL RISK INSURANCE FUNDS **[**[12 U.S.C. 1735f–20](/us/usc/t12/s1735f–20)**]** There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary for each of fiscal years 1994 and 1995, to be allocated in any manner that the Secretary determines appropriate, for the following costs incurred in conjunction with programs authorized under the General Insurance Fund, as provided by section 519, and the Special Risk Insurance Fund, as provided by section 238: ####
(1)The cost to the Government, as defined in section 502 of the Congressional Budget Act, of new insurance commitments. ####
(2)The cost to the Government, as defined in section 502 of the Congressional Budget Act, of modifications to existing loans, loan guarantees, or insurance commitments. ####
(3)The cost to the Government, as defined in section 502 of the Congressional Budget Act, of loans provided under section 203(f) of the Housing and Community Development Amendments of 1978. ####
(4)The costs of the rehabilitation of multifamily housing projects (as defined in section 203(b) of the Housing and Community Development Amendments of 1978) upon disposition by the Secretary. # TITLE VI WAR HOUSING INSURANCE **[**Note.—Title VI of the National Housing Act authorized the Secretary to ensure mortgages for sale and rental housing to relieve the acute housing shortage and provide housing for World War II veterans.**]** # TITLE VII INSURANCE FOR INVESTMENTS IN RENTAL HOUSING FOR FAMILIES OF MODERATE INCOME **[**Note.—Title VII of the National Housing Act provided a special system of insurance designed to encourage equity investment in rental housing for families of moderate income.**]** # TITLE VIII ARMED SERVICES HOUSING MORTGAGE INSURANCE136
