## Sec. 16 **[**[21 U.S.C. 616](/us/usc/t21/s616)**]** And for this purpose he may appoint inspectors who shall be authorized to give an official certificate stating the condition in which said amenable species,14 and the meat thereof, are found. 14Sec. 798(1) of P.L. 109–97, Nov. 10, 2005, amended the Act by striking “cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules, and other equines” each place it appears and inserting “amenable species”. Although the previous text read “cattle, sheep, swine, goats, horses, mules, or other equines”, the amendment was executed to effectuate the probable intent of Congress.
