## SEC. 833 CLARIFICATION OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR COST ANALYSES AND TARGETS FOR CONTRACT NEGOTIATION PURPOSES Section 2334(e) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)by redesignating paragraphs (2), (3), and
(4)as paragraphs (3), (4), and (5), respectively; ####
(2)in paragraph (1)— #####
(A)by striking “shall provide that—” and all that follows through “cost estimates” and inserting “shall provide that cost estimates”; #####
(B)by striking “; and” and inserting a period; and #####
(C)by redesignating subparagraph
(B)as paragraph
(2)and moving such paragraph two ems to the left; ####
(3)in paragraph (2), as redesignated by paragraph
(2)of this section, by striking “cost analyses and targets” and inserting “The Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics shall, in consultation with the Director of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation, develop policies, procedures, and guidance to ensure that cost analyses and targets”; ####
(4)in paragraph (3), as redesignated by paragraph
(1)of this section, by striking “issued by the Director of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation” and inserting “issued by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics under paragraph (2)”; and ####
(5)in paragraph (5), as redesignated by paragraph
(1)of this section, by striking “paragraph (3)” and inserting “paragraph (4)”.
