## SEC. 52013 TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLANNING Section 508(a) of title 23, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)in paragraph (1), by striking “SAFETEA-LU” and inserting “Transportation Research and Innovative Technology Act of 2012”; and ####
(2)in paragraph (2), by striking subparagraph
(A)and inserting the following: > > ##### “(A) > > describe the primary purposes of the transportation research and development program, which shall include, at a minimum— > > > ###### “(i) > > promoting safety; > > > ###### “(ii) > > reducing congestion and improving mobility; > > > ###### “(iii) > > preserving the environment; > > > ###### “(iv) > > preserving the existing transportation system; > > > ###### “(v) > > improving the durability and extending the life of transportation infrastructure; and > > > ###### “(vi) > > improving goods movement.” > . # TITLE III INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS RESEARCH
