Sec. 1. This Act shall be known as and may be cited as the "Illinois Trade Secrets Act".

Sec. 2. As used in this Act, unless the context requires otherwise:.

Sec. 3. (a) Actual or threatened misappropriation may be enjoined.

Sec. 4. (a) In addition to the relief provided for by Section 3, a person is entitled to recover damages for misappropriation.

Sec. 5. If (i) a claim of misappropriation is made in bad faith, (ii) a motion to terminate an injunction is made or resisted in bad faith, or (iii) willful and malicio.

Sec. 6. In an action under this Act, a court shall preserve the secrecy of an alleged trade secret by reasonable means, which may include granting protective orders in.

Sec. 7. An action for misappropriation must be brought within 5 years after the misappropriation is discovered or by the exercise of reasonable diligence should have be.

Sec. 9. This Act takes effect on January 1, 1988, and does not apply to misappropriation occurring prior to its effective date.
