The provisions of §§ 32-22-9 to 32-22-12.1 , inclusive, do not apply to any combination of vehicles consisting of a towing motor vehicle and two implements of husbandry which is being operated by or for a farm implement dealer. The operator of any such combination shall have in possession an oversize permit issued pursuant to § 32-22-42 . In such a combination, the vehicles shall be connected to each other by a ball hitch, a pintle hitch, or a pin hitch. The maximum length of the vehicles in this combination may not exceed one hundred feet and neither implement may exceed forty - five feet in length.
The combination may not be operated on the interstate highway system. The combination may travel on other public highways only during the hours of sunrise to sunset, may not travel in excess of twenty - five miles per hour, and the rearmost implement shall display red flags on the extremities. A violation of this section is a Class 2 misdemeanor.
