§ 42-7-80. Payment of awards; notice of intention to contest award.
When awards under this article are made by the commission, the commission shall transmit to the director of the fund an official copy of such award, which shall contain the name of the claimant or beneficiary, an itemized statement of the payments to be made and such other information as may be necessary to constitute a full record of the case. Upon receipt of such official award the director of the fund, if he approves the award, shall forward an official copy thereof to the Comptroller General who shall issue his warrant upon the State Treasurer in payment of the claim and retain the award as his voucher therefor.
If the director intends to litigate or otherwise contest the award, he shall notify the commission of such intention.
