Summary

The Coast Guard will enforce the safety zone for the Wendell Family Fourth of July Fireworks Display on July 4, 2018, to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during this event. Our regulation for marine events within the Eighth Coast Guard District identifies the regulated area for this event in Rockport, TX. During the enforcement periods, entry into these zones is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector Corpus Christi (COTP) or a designated representative.

The regulations in 33 CFR 165.801, Table 4, Line 7 will be enforced from 8 p.m. through 9:30 p.m. on July 4, 2018.

Supplementary Information

The Coast Guard will enforce the safety zone in 33 CFR 165.801, Table 4, Line 7, for the Wendell Family Fourth of July Fireworks Display regulated area from 8 p.m. through 9:30 p.m. on July 4, 2018. This action is being taken to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during this event. Our regulation for marine events within the Eighth Coast Guard District, § 165.801, specifies the location of the regulated area for the Wendell Family Fourth of July Fireworks which encompasses portions of Little Bay and Rockport Beach Park. As reflected in §§ 165.23 and 165.801(a), if you are the operator of a vessel in the regulated area you must comply with directions from the Captain of the Port Sector Corpus Christi (COTP) or a designated representative. Persons or vessels desiring to enter the zones must request permission from the COTP or a designated representative. They can be reached on VHF FM channel 16 or by telephone at (361) 939-0450. If permission is granted, all persons and vessels shall comply with the instructions of the COTP or designated representative. In addition to this notice of enforcement in the Federal Register , the COTP or a designated representative will inform the public through Broadcast Notice to Mariners (BNM), Local Notices to Mariners (LNM), Marine Safety Information Broadcasts (MSIBs), and/or through other means of public notice as appropriate at least 24 hours in advance of each enforcement.
