SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act, the Regulatory Secretariat Division will be submitting to the Office of Management and Budget
(OMB)a request to review and approve an extension of a previously approved information collection requirement concerning the clauses and provisions required for use in commercial item acquisitions. Purpose The Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994 reformed Federal acquisition statutes to encourage and facilitate the acquisition of commercial items and services by the Federal Government. Accordingly, DoD, NASA, and GSA amended the Federal Acquisition Regulation
(FAR)to include streamlined/simplified procedures for the acquisition of commercial items. Pertinent to this information collection, FAR Provision 52.212-3, “Offeror Representations and Certifications—Commercial Items,” was implemented to combine the multitude of individual provisions used in Government solicitations into a single provision for use in commercial acquisitions. The provision is among the representations and certifications that are available for completion in the System for Award Management (SAM). B. Annual Reporting Burden *Respondents:* 397,000. *Responses per Respondent:* 1.46. *Total Responses:* 579,620. *Hours per Response:* .500. *Total Burden Hours:* 289,810. *Frequency:* On Occasion. *Affected Public:* Businesses or other for-profit and not-for-profit institutions. C.
