ACTION: Notice of availability of the Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement. SUMMARY: The Commodity Credit Corporation and the Farm Service Agency announce the availability of the draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement
(PEIS)for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). The draft PEIS assesses the potential environmental impacts of alternatives to be considered in the administration of the CRP. The draft PEIS also provides a means for the public to voice any concern they may have about the program and any ideas for improving it. This Notice of Availability informs the public that the draft PEIS is available and solicits public comment. DATES: FSA invites comments on the draft PEIS. Comments should be submitted by close of business on October 21, 2002, to ensure consideration. Comments submitted after this date will be considered to the extent possible.
