Summary
EPA is taking direct final action to approve revisions to the Pinal-Gila Counties Air Quality Control District (PGCAQCD) and Pinal County Air Quality Control District (PCAQCD) portions of the Arizona State Implementation Plan (SIP). These revisions concern the recision of all of the remaining SIP rules from the obsolete PGCAQCD and the recision of certain PCAQCD SIP Rules. We are approving the recision of local rules that no longer regulate permitting procedures and various emission sources under the Clean Air Act as amended in 1990 (CAA or the Act).
Dates
Any comments on this proposal must arrive by May 31, 2001.
Supplementary Information
This proposal addresses the recisions of defunct SIP rules from the PGCAQCD. In the Rules and Regulations section of this Federal Register , we are approving the recision of these rules in a direct final action without prior proposal because we believe this SIP revision is not controversial. If we receive adverse comments, however, we will publish a timely withdrawal of the direct final rule and address the comments in subsequent action based on this proposed rule. We do not plan to open a second comment period, so anyone interested in commenting should do so at this time. If we do not receive adverse comments, no further activity is planned. For further information, please see the direct final action. Dated: March 20, 2001. Mike Schulz, Acting Regional Administrator, Region IX. [FR Doc. 01-10652 Filed 4-30-01; 8:45 am]
