ACTION: Notice of funding awards. SUMMARY: In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989, this announcement notifies the public of funding decisions made by the Department in a competition for funding under the Notice of Funding Availability
(NOFA)for the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Program. This announcement contains the names and addresses of the awardees and the amount of the awards made available by HUD to provide assistance to the HBCUs. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This program is authorized under section 107(b)(3) of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (the 1974 Act) (42 U.S.C. 5307(b)(3)), which was added by section 105 of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989 (Pub. L. 101-235). The program is governed by regulations contained in 24 CFR 570.400 and 570.404, and in 24 CFR part 570, subparts A, C, J, K, and O. This notice announces FY 2000 funding of $10,365,897 to HBCUs to be used to stimulate economic and community development activities in the HBCUs' locality. The FY 2000 grantees announced in this Notice were selected for funding consistent with the provisions in the NOFA published in the **Federal Register** on February 24, 2000 (65 FR 9429). The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number for this program is 14.237. In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989 (103 Stat. 1987, 42 U.S.C. 3545), the Department is publishing the grantees and amounts of the awards in Appendix B.
