ACTION: Notice. SUMMARY: In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 *et seq.* ), this notice announces that the Information Collection Request
(ICR)abstracted below has been forwarded to the Office of Management and Budget
(OMB)for review and comment. The ICR describes the nature of the information collections and their expected burden. The **Federal Register** Notice with a 60-day comment period was published on March 20, 2000 [65 FR 15034-15035]. DATES: Comments must be submitted on or before July 24, 2000. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration *Title: * Part 544—Insurer Reporting Requirements—Motor Vehicle Theft Law Enforcement Act of 1984. *OMB Number:* 2127-0547. *Type of Request:* Extension of a currently approved collection. *Abstract: * Purpose of 544 is to reduce the cost of vehicle ownership by reducing the cost of comprehensive insurance premiums charged by insurers of motor vehicles due to vehicle thefts and distribution of stolen vehicles. Insurance companies and rental/leasing companies are required, annually, to provide information to the Secretary of Transportation (NHTSA). *Affected Public: * Businesses and other-for-profit institutions, (insurance companies and rental/leasing companies) insuring motor vehicles. *Estimated Total Annual Burden:* 68,325.
