§ 4355. Nonprofit art corporations.
(a)General rule.-- The board of commissioners may appropriate money annually, of an amount not more than equal to one mill of the real estate tax, to any nonprofit art corporation for the conduct of the corporation's artistic and cultural activities.
(b)Definitions.-- As used in this section, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this subsection unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
"Artistic and cultural activities." The term includes the display or production of theater, music, dance, painting, architecture, sculpture, arts and crafts, photography, film, graphic arts and design and creative writing.
"Nonprofit art corporation." A local arts council, commission or coordinating agency or other nonprofit corporation engaged in the production or display of works of art, including the visual, written or performing arts.
