§ 3904. Support of Pennsylvania National Guard units.
(a)Annual appropriation.-- The board of commissioners may annually appropriate a sum not to exceed $1,500 for the support, maintenance, discipline and training of a unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard. If Pennsylvania National Guard units are organized as a battalion, regiment or similar organization, the total amount due under this subsection may be paid to the commanding officer of the battalion, regiment or similar organization.
(b)Condition.-- Money appropriated under subsection
(a)shall be paid by warrant drawn to the order of the commanding officer of the Pennsylvania National Guard unit conditioned upon certification by the Adjutant General to the township that the unit has satisfactorily passed the annual inspection provided by State law.
(c)Use of money.-- Money appropriated under subsection
(a)shall be used and expended solely for the support, maintenance, discipline and training of a company, battalion, regiment or similar organization of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
(d)Accounting required.--
(1)The commanding officer of a company, battalion, regiment or similar organization of the Pennsylvania National Guard shall account, by proper vouchers to the township each year, for the expenditure of money appropriated under subsection (a).
(2)An appropriation under subsection
(a)may not be made for any subsequent year until the expenditure of the previous year is satisfactorily accounted for under paragraph (1).
(3)The account of an expenditure of money appropriated under subsection
(a)shall be subject to the inspection of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and shall be audited by the Auditor General in accordance with the laws of this Commonwealth.
