§ 2702. Assistant secretary.
The board of commissioners may, by resolution, appoint an assistant secretary. The assistant secretary shall assist the secretary in the performance of the secretary's duties and, in the absence or disability of the secretary, perform the duties and exercise the powers of the secretary. The compensation of an assistant secretary shall be determined by the board of commissioners, and the assistant secretary shall be required to give bond in an amount as required by the board of commissioners.
The assistant secretary may be appointed from the membership of the board of commissioners but may not be any other officer of the board. If a member of the board of commissioners is appointed as the assistant secretary, the appointed member may not receive compensation for the services and shall be bonded.
