§ 1107. Legal advertising.
(a)General rule.-- A notice required to be published in one or more newspapers under this part shall be made in a newspaper of general circulation, as defined under 45 Pa.C.S. § 101 (relating to definitions), printed in the township or in a newspaper circulating generally in the township if there is no newspaper of general circulation.
(b)Special circumstances.--
(1)Unless dispensed with by special order of court, if the notice under subsection
(a)relates to one of the following, the notice shall also, in counties of the second, third, fourth and fifth classes, be published in the legal newspaper of the county, if any, designated by the rules of court:
(i)Proceeding or matter in a court.
(ii)Holding of an election for the increase of indebtedness.
(iii)Issue and sale of bonds to be paid by taxation.
(2)The following shall be published only in newspapers of general circulation:
(i)Ordinances.
(ii)Auditors' statements.
(iii)Summaries of auditors' statements.
(iv)Advertisements inviting proposals for public contracts or for bids for materials and supplies.
(v)Lists of delinquent taxpayers.
