§ 1324. Protocol information.
The department shall provide, upon request and in advance of the operation of a central control computer, to a licensed slot machine supplier or manufacturer the comprehensive protocol specifications necessary to enable the respective slot machine suppliers or manufacturers of slot machine terminals to communicate with the department's central control computer for the purpose of transmitting auditing program information and for activating and disabling of slot machine terminals.
Manufacturers and suppliers shall be afforded a reasonable period of time to comment upon the protocol in advance of the operation of the central control computer. Once adopted, the department shall provide suppliers and manufacturers a reasonable period of time to review and comment on any changes and on documentation data for all proposed changes to the original protocol specifications of the central control computer. Manufacturers and suppliers shall be afforded a reasonable period of time to comment upon and employ all proposed changes to the protocol in advance of its implementation and operation with the central control computer.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the department may expedite changes in the protocol as may be needed to ensure the integrity and stability of the entire system.
