§ 16503. Fair, park and recreation boards.
The county commissioners may establish a fair board, park board or recreation board, which shall possess all the powers and be subject to all the responsibilities of the county commissioners in the management, supervision, operation and maintenance of recreation places. A board shall consist of a minimum of five individuals and a maximum of nine individuals. The members of the boards shall be appointed by the county commissioners for a term to extend no longer than five years and the terms of the members shall be staggered so at least one expires annually.
Members of the board shall serve without pay. Vacancies in the board occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be for the unexpired term and shall be filled in the same manner as original appointments.
