§ 6271. Operating without license.
(a)Prohibition; penalty.-- An entity or individual under subsection
(b)engaging in business in this Commonwealth as an installment seller, sales finance company or collector-repossessor without having obtained a license under this chapter commits a violation of this chapter and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced at the discretion of the court to either or both of the following:
(1)Pay a fine of not less than $2,000 nor more than $10,000.
(2)Imprisonment for not more than three years.
(b)Applicability.-- Subsection
(a)applies to the following:
(1)A person, partnership, association, business corporation, financial institution, nonprofit corporation, common law trust, joint stock company or any other group of individuals, however organized.
(2)An owner, partner, member, officer, director, trustee, employee, agent, broker or representative of an entity under paragraph (1).
