§74-150.35. Forensic Science Improvement Revolving Fund – Creation

- Use of fund
There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving fund for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to be designated the "Forensic Science Improvement Revolving Fund". The fund shall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year limitations, and shall consist of all appropriated funds, any funds from state, federal or other grants, the funds collected from assessments provided by Section 1313.4 of Title 20 of the Oklahoma Statutes, any monies transferred from the OSBI Revolving Fund; and any other monies designated to or deposited to the benefit of this fund.
All monies accruing to the credit of this fund are hereby appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for the purpose of improvement of the forensic science services of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation including, but not limited to:
1. Purchase, construction, renovation, financing or leasing of facilities and equipment;
2. Purchase, rental, upgrades, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment;
3. Salaries, benefits, training, equipment, supplies, and overhead expenses for agency personnel;
4. Education, training and development of OSBI personnel;
5. Destruction of seized property and chemicals;
6. Accreditation and quality assurance expenses;
7. Professional services contracts;
8. Purchase equipment and provide training to law enforcement agencies located in this state, pursuant to Section 62.9 of this title; and
9. Enhancement or implementation of forensic technologies. Expenditures from the fund shall be made upon warrants issued by the State Treasurer against claims filed as prescribed by law with the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services for approval and payment.
