§70-6-115. Information concerning student - Violation.

It shall be unlawful for any teacher to reveal any information concerning a student obtained by the teacher in their capacity as a teacher except as may be required in the performance of the contractual duties of the teacher or as otherwise required by law. The information may be provided to the parent or guardian of the student upon request or as otherwise required by law. Any violation of this section shall upon conviction be considered a misdemeanor. Added by Laws 1971, c. 281, § 6-115, eff. July 2, 1971. Amended by Laws 2003, c. 430, § 3, eff. July 1, 2003.
