Review and recommendations - Report.
A. The State Board of Education shall review the pupil grade level weights, district weights and pupil category weights which form a part of the school funding formula using the results of the
educational cost accounting system now in place and shall make recommendations for revisions to such weights to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate on or before April 1, 1991.
B. The recommendations of the State Board of Education required by subsection A of this section shall take into consideration the findings and recommendations of the report of the Special Joint Committee on School Finance, created pursuant to Section 45 of Enrolled House Bill No. 1035 of the 1st Session of the 40th Oklahoma Legislature, in addition to any other information the Board determines relevant to such review. The Board is directed to pay particular attention to a review of the pupil category weights, and should determine whether the creation of other weights is warranted.
C. In addition to the review and recommendations required by subsection A of this section, the State Board of Education shall review that part of the State Aid formula which provides for a midterm supplement in State Aid to school districts. The Board shall make recommendations in a report regarding revisions to or elimination of the provisions for such supplement to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate on or before September 1, 1990.
On or before September 1, 1990, the Board shall send a copy of the report to the administrator of each school site in the state. Added by Laws 1989, 1st Ex.Sess., c. 2, § 60, emerg. eff. April 25, 1990. Amended by Laws 1990, c. 263, § 73, operative July 1, 1990.
