§70-13-116. Corporal punishment prohibited on certain students.

A. School district personnel shall be prohibited from using corporal punishment on any student identified with a disability in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
B. As used in this section, “corporal punishment” means the deliberate infliction of physical pain by hitting, paddling, spanking, slapping, or any other physical force used as a means of discipline. Added by Laws 2017, c. 222, § 1, eff. Nov. 1, 2017. Amended by Laws 2025, c. 99, § 1.
